President
Mr. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman Shami |
Mr. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman Shami the Editor-in-Chief Daily Pakistan. He is also Publisher of Weekly Zindagi and Monthly Qaumi Digest. He started his career with the daily “Hurriat” as a feature writer in 1966-67. He then joined Jang Group and remained on the editorial board of weekly “Akhbar Jehan” for about two years. He assumed the responsibilities of Editor-in-Charge of Weekly “Zindagi” at its inception in 1969. He was sentenced to one year rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 300,000/- under the Martial Law Regulations in 1972. He established his own publishing organization in 1974 and thenceforth published various Urdu Weeklies. However, he was not able to get his own declaration for a magazine during Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s regime. Besides on different occasions his periodicals had to undergo pecuniary punishments. He was again arrested in April 1977 on the absurd charge of stealing a wheel cap and a jack of an official vehicle. He started monthly Qaumi Digest in 1978.
The weekly “Zindagi” was re-launched in 1989 under his management. He is now the Editor-in-Chief of Daily Pakistan and Chairman and the Chief Executive of the Zindagi Publications (Pvt.) Ltd.
Mujeeb-ur-Rahman has been active member of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) and the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) and is being continuously elected as the member of their executive committee for the several years. He has also served as the President of CPNE and remained the Secretary General of this organization for three years. He has also served as the Senior-Vice President of APNS for the year 1994-95, 2005-06 and 2006-07. |

Mr. Muhammad Aslam Kazi |
Mr. Muhammad Aslam Kazi S/o. Kazi Muhammad Akbar born at Hyderabad Sindh is an M.A (Economics) from University of Sindh. After Completing education joined Banking Industry and was posted in Doha Qatar and London. Joined Journalism in 1976 as Editor of Sindhi Daily, Sindh News and English Daily Sindh Observer, Hyderabad. Started Daily Kawish in 1990 and presently working as its Chief Editor. He is widely traveled and has visited America, Europe, Middle East, South and Far East Asia. He served APNS Executive Committee for several times, served as Finance Secretary of APNS for the year 2000-2001, and Joint Secretary 2001-2002. He served as Secretary General of APNS 2003-04, 2004-05, 2007-08 and 2008-09. He is Vice Chairman of Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA). |

Mr. Mumtaz A. Tahir born on 1st March, 1946 at Multan, is the Chief Editorand Publisher of Daily Aftab Multan and Lahore. He is B.Sc(Hons) and D.H.M.S. He has more than 39 years of experience in his journalistic career. He worked with regional as well as different national newspapers. He also worked as Resident Reporter of Daily Nawa-e-Waqt Lahore at Multan in 1970-71. Mr. Mumtaz Tahir launched Daily Aftab from Multan on 6th September, 1975. Under his editorship, Aftab played a vital role in the Nizam-e-Mustafa movement. It achieved the hallmark in circulation figures of above eighty thousand copied daily. He then started Daily Aftab from Lahore on 14th August, 1983, successfully. At present he is Chief Editor Daily Aftab Lahore and Multan, Chief Editor, Business News Multan. He holds different important offices such as President Khawaja Farid Cultural Forum Pakistan (Multan), President Khawaja Farid Academy (Multan), Public Relations, Secretary Social Welfare Society Nishtar Hospital Multan. He served Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) as Public Relations Secretary and Vice President. He was elected Vice President of APNS for Four Different terms. He is member of the Executive Committee APNS and CPNE for last 22 years. |

Dr. Jabbar Khattak Chief Editor & Publisher of leading Sindhi Language newspaper Daily Awami Awaz, Karachi. Born at Karachi on September 03, 1954, is an MBBS (1986) and was founder member of Democratic Students Federation (D.S.F.) During this period, he faced imprisonment for more than 4 years during General Zia-ul-Haq’s Military regime, for his struggle against Martial Law, for press freedom and other human rights. He started his career in journalism in1972 along with his medical studies. He introduced modern information technology in Sindhi Journalism by publishing the first ever computer composed newspaper. Daily Awami Awaz, Karachi Which became the pioneer of new Sindhi Journalism. He also took active part in developing Sindhi word processing software and page making system in personal computer as well as Sindhi Unicode in XP Windows, and also by introducing man new Journalistic trends in Sindhi Journalism. These contributions are among many factors which made Sindhi print media as a popular media in the province of Sindh. He also formed the first ever Sindh News Agency i.e. Sindh Press International (S.P.I). He served All Pakistan Newspapers Society as a Joint Secretary from October 1996 to March 1999. He was also one of 3 members special Committee who took part in drafting the APNS recommendations for formation of Pakistan Press Council and for Registration of Press and Publication Law. He was Secretary General of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) for the year 2003-04 and 2004-5, and Convener of Press Freedom Monitoring Committee of CPNE. He was elected Senior Vice President of CPNE for the Year 2006-07. He is founding member of South Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) and Joint Secretary of SAFMA (Pakistan). He is also NGO activist and has an active role in many NGOs which are engaged in community development, legislative reforms, human rights, press freedom, women’s rights, gender equality, Public Health policy etc. He remained member of Advisory Board of Ministry of Population Planning, member of Health Formulary Committee, Govt. of Sindh WTO and Environment. He also remained member of Sub-Committee of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Health, Education, WTO and Environment as well. |

Syed Muhammad Munir Jilani born on 1st June, 1964 at Faisalabad. M.A Journalism with Roll of Honour, from Punjab University Lahore, Chief Editor Daily Paigham, Faisalabad, Lahore. He started his career in journalism in 1983 as Editor-in-Charge. Also worked with Mashriq and APP for some time in 1988 and then assumed the charge of Chief Editor Daily Paigham. He was Joint Secretary CPNE for the year 2005-2006. He is serving Executive Committee of the APNS for the last 15 years. |

Mr. Mehtab Khan Abbasi born on May 02, 1957 in Murree. F.A. From Gordon College Rawalpindi in 1972, Diploma in Civil Engineering from Govt. College of Technology Rawalpindi in 1975. Went to Germany in 1977. Studied in Inlingua College Frankfurt (Germany). Worked in Newspaper Frankfurter Rundshau and established business in Germany. Established Daily Ausaf London in May 2002 and Daily Ausaf Islamabad in August 2002. Worked as Finance Secretary of CPNE for the year 2003-4 and 2004-5 and Convener of Federal Capital Committee of APNS for the year 2005,06,07,08.
