Tariq Farooq Publisher and Editor Daily "Jehan Numa" Lahore, Gujrawnala,
Rawalipindi and Monthly "Pallak" Lahore was born on 27th Feb. 1949 at Lahore. He
did his Marticulation from Muslim Model High School, Lahore and later on studied
in Government College, Lahore for four years. He is B.A.in 1968, he started his
journalistic career from Jehan Numa which was a Weekly at that time. His father,
an eminent journalist Sharif Farooq had established it in 1966. He became full
fledged editor of Weekly Jehan Numa in 1973, when his father left it and joined
Daily Nawa-I-Waqt, Rawalpindi as Resident Editor. Tariq Farooq ran Weekly Jehan
Numa Lahore from 1973 to 1989, later on turned it into a Daily in April, 1990.
Now it is simultaneously being published from Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi.
Tariq Farooq has edited and translated a few books. He has also been running a
socio political magazine Monthly Pallak Lahore since 1986.
